Dr. Luis E. Bello-Espinosa Obituary, Ocoee, FL Death, Physician at Orlando Health’s Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has died

Dr. Luis Enrique Bello Espinosa, a beloved husband, father, brother, physician, and compassionate healer, passed away on July 11, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, leaving behind a legacy defined by dedication, kindness, and a lifelong commitment to helping others.

Born on July 18, 1957, and raised in Cartagena, Colombia, Luis was the son of respected journalist Luis A. Bello and Hilda Espinosa. From an early age, he developed a passion for learning, service, and caring for those around him. He pursued his dream of becoming a physician by earning his medical degree from the Universidad Metropolitana de Barranquilla. His journey in medicine continued with pediatric residency training in New Jersey, advanced training in pediatric neurology in New York, and a fellowship specializing in epilepsy at the renowned Mayo Clinic.

Luis’s medical career took him across borders and communities. He practiced medicine in Canada for ten years before making Orlando, Florida, his professional home, where he joined Orlando Health’s Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. There, he dedicated the remainder of his career as a pediatric neurologist specializing in epilepsy, caring for children and families who often faced some of life’s most difficult challenges.

To Luis, medicine was never simply a profession—it was a calling. He treated every child and every family with patience, compassion, and respect. He was known for taking the time to listen, explain, and advocate for his patients, ensuring that no family felt alone in their search for answers. Many parents who had exhausted other options found hope in Luis’s determination and unwavering commitment to their children’s well-being. His colorful bow ties became a familiar and cherished symbol among his patients, representing the warmth, optimism, and personal connection he brought into every encounter.

Outside of his work, Luis found his greatest joy in his family. He treasured traveling with his loved ones, capturing memories through his camera, and sharing experiences with those closest to him. He had a lifelong passion for sports, especially baseball, and remained endlessly curious throughout his life, always eager to discover, learn, and understand more about the world around him. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Kodi, who was a faithful companion.

Luis is survived by his devoted wife, Gina Molina; his daughters, Mary Frances Bello, Daniella Bello, and Gabriella Bello; and his siblings, Ana María, Ariel Alonso, Lourdes Alicia, Patricia Elena, and José Ricardo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis Alberto Bello and Hilda Esperanza Espinosa.

Those who knew Luis will remember him as much more than an accomplished physician. He was a source of comfort, encouragement, and kindness to countless people. His influence will continue through the family he cherished, the colleagues he inspired, and the many patients whose lives were changed because of his care.

A memorial service honoring Luis’s life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory – West Orange Chapel, located at 1400 Matthew Paris Blvd, Ocoee, FL 34761. Visitation will take place before the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

In celebration of Luis’s personality and spirit, guests are warmly invited to wear a bow tie or dark blue, his favorite color, as a tribute to the joy and individuality he brought to those around him.
